General Usage Info


  • Building Entry & Exit

    • Ensure the building is locked at the conclusion of your event.
    • There is a keypad on the main entry, basement, and east stairway doors.
    • Enter the 4 digit code provided by the reservation coordinator.
    • When the light glows green the door will remain unlocked for 20 seconds.
    • To permanently unlock the doors for your event: The metal hex key for each door is up on the left inside door frame. Insert the end into the hole on the push bar in the inside of the door and rotate fully to hold the bar back in place.

  • Cleaning

    • Areas reserved must be returned to their original condition at the conclusion of your event.  
    • Dry erase cleaning checklists for each area are available on site, and the completed checklists should be left for the custodian.
    • Any damage should be reported to the custodian.
    • Perform a quick walkthrough of the common areas used (including outside around the building where children may have wandered) to look for any trash.
    • If trash cans are over half full or have food content, take trash to the dumpster on the East side of the building and replace trash bags.
    • The Custodian will replace restroom supplies  periodically through the week; however if these have run out there are extras in the Custodian closet.
    • Please be considerate of back to back events as the Custodian may not have time to check between events. A little extra effort will be needed to ensure the floors are clean, restroom supplies stocked, and trash is taken to the dumpster. The event coordinator will provide a reminder in these cases.
    • Chairs and tables should be wiped down and neatly stored in storage room.
    • Please contact custodians Scott and Tecca Virkler with any questions.
  • Fire, Water, or Medical Emergency

    Fire Alarm

    • The Alarm Control panel is just inside the front door
    • The loud fire alarm with flashing lights will automatically dispatch the fire department. When they arrive they will help diagnose the problem.
    • It can be silenced by pressing the ACK button, lights will continue to flash
    • The low volume intermittent alarm tone indicates a supervisory alert. Press ACK and then Silence to turn off. Call a trustee to report the cause shown on the display.

    Water Emergency

    •  If there is a leak that needs to be stopped, turn off water main in the Sprinkler Room (inside Utilities)
    • If a sprinkler head needs to be turned off, close sprinkler main in the Sprinkler Room (inside Utilities)

    Medical Emergency

    •  Medical supplies are in the Passage to the Conference Room on the coat shelf
    • Use the Conference Room as a Care Room till help arrives
  • Lights, Temperature, Sound, Wifi

    Lights

    • Lights are controlled by occupancy sensors and will automatically turn on and shut off. There is no need to turn off the lights when exiting the building.
    • The only lights that turn off and on manually are the ones in the crib rooms in the nursery.  

    Temperature Control

    • Thermostats can be utilized to manually turn the HVAC system on and off.
    • Manual temperature adjustment via a thermostat is ONLY available in the conference room.
    • Temperatures are preset and can only be changed by a trustee from the online system.

    Sound System & Wi-Fi

    • Guest wifi is available, and the password is unity237
    • Basic sound system functionality is available via the wall control unit
  • Partitions, Decor, Tables & Chairs, Songbooks

    Decorating

    • Nothing may be affixed in any way to any walls, doors, trim, or ceilings

    Operable Partitions

    • Operable partitions will generally be left in place, separating the gathering room, main assembly, and One Village areas.
    • Please contact a trustee for events requiring pushing them back into the wall.

    Tables and Chairs

    • 300 chairs, 45 round tables seating 7-8, and 45 rectangular 8’ tables seating 10 are available in the table and chair storage room
    • All tables and chairs in this storage room must remain on the property
    • Tables and chairs must be returned to the storage room at the conclusion of your event
    • IF YOU WISH TO BORROW TABLES AND CHAIRS, 50 chairs and 15 8’ tables are available in the basement storage room, for removal out the back basement door. Please use the paper signout sheet to reserve these older tables / chairs and return them in a timely manner. All other equipment is to remain on-site and is not available to borrow.

    Song Books

    • Song books are stored in the table and chair room and should be returned to their original location
