September 30th

October 7, 2020
Greetings! The following are the Announcements from Sunday September 27, 2020

1. We will be extending our fall collection through the month of October.

2. Additionally, given the impact of the pandemic on many families we are going to postpone our Fellowship Hall Year-end collection. This will relieve anyone of making the intention contribution this year if they wish. This will still be optional however so that anyone who wishes to still submit their intended contribution this year can do so. Simply mark your check accordingly and our treasurers will apply it to the Fellowship Hall Building fund.

3. As you may have noticed Connecticut’s Governor has begun steps to move into a next phase of opening. This includes the option for us to gather in unlimited numbers outdoors and increase indoor numbers up to 200 people.

4. The brothers and sisters involved are making plans to change our procedures so we can take advantage of these changes as the weather cools, ideas such as: how we will sign-up or possibly use pre-arranged groups to attend church, and consider steps in the coming month to possibly begin having lunch again in church. For Sunday school, Bro Jon is working on a plan to potentially bring Sunday school inside as the weather cools. I would ask that you give those Brothers and Sisters working on these procedures a little time and that we do all we can to adapt to any changes that will be proposed which I know will be motivated by doing what’s best for the entire church family.

5. Given this, I would suggest we change the date of our October Monthly Singing to the second Saturday of October as this will enable 200 of us to be at the General Singing. This will then be moved to Saturday evening the 10th at 7:00PM in the Church assembly.

6. In consideration of Gabrielle’s baptism planned for next Sunday in Vermont, we want to take appropriate steps to make it possible for as many to be there as is reasonable even though we may experience some added disruption. This is why I would request 3 things of those of us traveling to VT from out of state:
1 Please have a Covid-19 test between Monday September 28th and Friday October 2nd (or as close to this as reasonably possible) to ensure we are negative for the virus.
2 If possible, please do not stay in Vermont for more than 24 hours if traveling from another state.
3 Everyone attending will practice the appropriate “social distancing” and respect those who choose to do more, including wearing a mask if they are most comfortable doing so.

The day will begin at 10:00AM next Sunday followed immediately afterwards by Gabrielle’s testimony and baptism.
