September 12th & 15th
Greetings! The following are the Announcements for Sunday September 12 and Wednesday September 15, 2021
1. Update on Wedding Plans: We are looking forward to a blessed day next Sunday with the wedding of Bro Jason and Sis Janelle. Given the high number of visitors and the increased prevalence of Covid in Ohio and IL, there is an increased risk of our time together becoming the source of an outbreak in our area. We also have Communion the following weekend and desire to enable everyone in our congregation to attend if possible. In light of these concerns, we want to provide an update on logistics and clarification on recommended covid-related precautions.
a. We recognize there are many perspectives, and these issues can be sensitive, so above all things let us be diligent to “put on charity which is the bond of perfectness”, and let us be at peace among ourselves.
b. Based on the current weather forecast, we plan to have both Sunday services outside in order to limit exposure and avoid the need to wear masks.
- Please bring your own chair, song book, and Bible.
- We will have 200 chairs available for guests and close family.
c. For gatherings inside of church, we would encourage wearing a mask, especially when in the fellowship area visiting. If weather permits, much of our fellowship can be outside, and many of us can also eat lunch outside.
d. The singing on Saturday evening will be here in the assembly. Singing attire is appropriate. You are also welcome to sit as families as we have historically in the fellowship hall. Also please consider spreading out throughout the church assembly room.
2. The revised Fellowship Center proposal was approved with 95% voting yes. We are thankful for clear direction forward both with financial donation intentions and the final confirmation vote.
a. As outlined in their charter, the Design Committee will proceed with hiring an architect and developing detailed construction documents.
b. We will move forward with our collection of 2021 intentions starting in October.
We want to commend all of you for your peaceable approach throughout this process. We trust the Lord will continue to bless and guide us as we seek to glorify his name and reflect his love, grace and truth in the way we work together.
3. Communion is scheduled for Saturday, September 25, at 7pm. We are thankful that Elder Brothers Bob Dotterer, Ben Wiegand, and Kevin Ryan are willing to help serve.
a. There will be an abbreviated daytime communion service here at church on Saturday afternoon at 1:30pm. If you have not already, please contact Bro Brent if you plan to attend the smaller service.
4. Bro Kevin asked that we mention that the Communion service in Vermont is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, October 24. He will be joined by Elder Bro Dan Kilgus. If you are unable to attend our Communion service and would like to join the VT brethren for Communion, please reach out to Bro Kevin so that he can plan for the appropriate numbers
5. Haiti Experience: Many of us were blessed to hear Bro Gardy and Sis Suzi and family share their experience in Haiti on Sunday evening. Unfortunately, there were challenges with both the zoom streaming and the recording. We know there are many of you who would like to hear of their experience. We have asked Bro Gardy and Sis Suzi and their family if they would be willing to do this again, and they are willing with our support to share again some time in the coming weeks. We have not yet set a date but will share an update once it is scheduled. We also plan to record the session.
6. Hearing Box request: The sound committee has asked that if anyone has an old or spare hearing box that they or their parent are not using, please return it to church.
