October 7th

October 8, 2020

Greetings!  The following are the Announcements from Sunday October 4, 2020

1. Reminder that our fall collection continues through the month of October.

2. Reminder that we will have a general singing this Saturday evening, October 10, at 7pm. Sign-ups will be

available for 200 people. Please remember to maintain worship services guidelines for masks and socially distanced seating.

3. As we mentioned last week, Phase 3 of CT’s reopening begins on Thursday. We are continuing to work through the details, and want to share several updates:

(A) For outdoor services on Sunday morning, given the size of our property and assuming we maintain social distancing, everyone who wishes will be able to attend. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity while the weather permits. We will be able to sit together as families or with close acquaintances, and assuming we maintain 6’ distance between clusters, masks can be optional. If desired, you are welcome to fellowship in close conversations with masks. As they say in VT, a simple rule of thumb is that 6’ is about the length of a cow.

(B) For indoor services, we will now be able to accommodate 200 people per service. We will continue with separate seating, social distancing, and masks. You are welcome to sit with your children or close acquaintances. We may need to use the fellowship area as overflow seating, and ask that you follow the guidance of the ushers as you arrive.

(C) We are looking into changing our sign-up process for sunday mornings and will share details of this in the coming weeks. In the meantime we will now have 200 slots available for all indoor Sunday services, and will no longer require sign-up for Wednesday evenings.

4. Sunday School will be held inside whenever the afternoon weather is cooler than 50 degrees, and will follow protocols similar to the Ellington School System. A virtual option will also be available. Parents can find details on the Sunday school website, including instructions for drop-off and pick-up. We will coordinate church dismissal with Bro Jon Moser to ensure that parents attending afternoon church can pick up their children on a timely basis.

5. As has been mentioned, Communion will be held on two evenings — Sunday evening, October 18 and Sunday, October 25, both at 7pm. Sign-ups (for brothers and sisters and converts) are now available. We also will be arranging a time during the day where those who can’t come for an evening or who prefer to take communion in a smaller circle, and will share those arrangements in the weeks following Oct 25.
