May 19th
1. Update on Re-opening:
We appreciate the helpful input we have received across a range of perspectives, all of which were expressed with love and respect. We want to provide an update on how we are incorporating the May 1th change to CT guidelines in which the state will no longer require fully vaccinated individuals to wear masks indoors. As we move into these new phases of re-opening, we will continue to be blessed as we show love and respect to one another.
9We continue to follow a balanced set of guiding principles
:1. Protect the vulnerable.
2. Respect government, community, and school system requirements and practices.
3. Enable worship for all of our members, children, and friends.
4. Move in measured steps, recognizing the range of perspectives across our congregation.
Changes and updates:
A. Effective May 19, when CT no longer requires masks indoors for those who are fully vaccinated, we will rely on each individual’s personal discretion in determining whether or not to wear a mask in church.
B. We will maintain a small, reserved section on each side of the church assembly with distancing between benches, for any who prefer greater distancing.
C. Our Sunday school will continue to follow the pattern of our school system through the end of this school year, with both children and teachers wearing masks indoors until mid-June when school is out.
D. As we approach mid-June, we expect to reinstate greeting with a handshake for those who are comfortable.
E. We will continue our modified lunch procedure and will re-evaluate this in late June. Please note we have a need for more kitchen help at lunchtime, including to make coffee. If you would like to help, please sign up through the link in the church e-mail.
F. We will evaluate the proper time to reintroduce the holy kiss as part of Worship Services as the situation towards full reopening progresses.
