March 24th

March 25, 2021

Greetings! The following are the Announcements from Wednesday March 24, 2021

1.  We plan to vote on the baby room renovation proposal on Sunday, March 28, after both morning and afternoon services.

2. Church Re-opening:  We plan to implement the following changes starting Sunday March 28:

  1. Seating: For the middle sections, seating will be available in every bench (instead of every other bench). We would still encourage spacing between parties and ask that you use personal discretion. For the wings, seating will continue to be every other bench to accommodate any who prefer more distancing.
  2. Sign-up: The sign-up will increase to ~325, with the goal of eliminating the need for sign up once we see how many we can accommodate safely.
  3. Church Lunch: We plan to phase in church lunch as follows:
  4. For the next two weeks (March 28 and April 4), please feel free to bring your own lunch and eat in the dining area or outside (bring your own chairs if outside).
  5. Beginning April 11 through April 25, the kitchen committee will serve lunch with buffet-style serving of pre-packaged food. Ushers will guide the dismissal and dining room seating process. Those who wish can also eat outside.
  6. Assuming this goes well, then beginning in May and through the summer, those who wish to serve will be able to sign up online, and then serve lunch on their given Sunday following the procedures developed by the kitchen committee. Given the uniqueness of the procedures, we will not re-institute the regular serving list at this time.
  7. Outside: Utilize outside gatherings as weather permits, without capacity restraints (sunday school, singings, or outside church services).
  8. Outside Fellowship Activities: The outside area behind church will be available for large gatherings in the same manner as our prior fellowship hall. Contact Sis Darla Reutter to check the calendar.

Items we plan to address in the future:

  1. Masks: Keep in place to enable greater in-person attendance; will re-evaluate in May; will depend on government guidelines, community practices, and covid levels.
  2. Handshake: Would like to implement in June; will update before then if applicable.
  3. Holy Kiss: At this point practice among family and those close to each other in homes.
  4. Communion will be rescheduled to later in the year, so will not be on April 24/25.
