June 13th

June 21, 2021

Greetings! The following are the Announcements for Sunday June 13, 2021

1. We are thankful for a wonderful day at our Sunday school picnic on Saturday, and on behalf of Bro Gardy and Sis Suzi (and all of us who attended) want to express our appreciation for everyone’s participation in helping make the day enjoyable for all of the children and young people.

2. Reminder that today our Sunday school students transition into their new classes.

3. Some of you may be aware that Adam and Annaliese Falkowski’s little son Kayden is scheduled to have open heart surgery this week. We want to express our love and support and remember them in prayer.

4. Update on our mask recommendation:

We want to acknowledge that some are wearing masks because they are unvaccinated and desire to comply with the CDC and state recommendations.

We are aware that this has been awkward for some during this period of transition.

As we examine the infection trends and vaccination rates over the past few months, we feel that the risk of spreading Covid within the church family is very low at this time. Those who have desired the vaccine have had the opportunity and are very well protected from Covid.

Because of these circumstances, we want to offer some updated thoughts on mask wearing.

1) We support those who continue to wear a mask for any number of reasons, and do not question their judgement.

2) We also support everyone, even those who are not vaccinated, attending church without a mask if they desire. This applies for our Sunday School children & teachers starting this week.

We recognize that there are some who feel this is long overdue, and others that feel this is premature. We sincerely ask for your continued patience and understanding. We have thought this through from many perspectives and are trying to do what is best for the whole.

Two final thoughts:

1) If conditions change or COVID infections increase over the coming months, we may need to change our procedures and recommendations, and trust we can do so peaceably if that time comes.

2) This recommendation only applies for our time together as a church family. We continue to respect the mask requirements of business, workplaces, and the school systems.
