August 27th
Greetings! The following are the Announcements for Sunday August 27, 2023
1. Elder Bro Brent has requested that brothers and sisters who were unable to attend or view Saturday evening’s teaching on 1 Corin 11:2-16 - the Biblical principle of Headship, and the Biblical practice of head uncovered/covered - would find opportunity in the coming days to listen to the recording which is now on AC Central along with the PDF of the presentation.
2. We are thankful to share that Ron Tredor was baptized on Sunday afternoon and welcomed by a small group of us into the church body as a Brother in Christ. Bro Ron had shared a wonderful testimony of faith with the ministers some months ago just before he suffered a debilitating stroke. Please continue to be prayerful for him.
3. The testimony for Ella Moser is planned for Saturday, September 9 at 7pm, with the baptism on Sunday, Sept 10. Elder Bro Dan Kilgus from Remington, IN plans to be with us.
- There will be a meal served after the baptism, which will be at the Fellowship Center. There is a sign-up as usual for contributing food and serving.
- In addition, there is now a separate sign-up sheet to indicate that you plan to attend. This will help the kitchen committee plan accordingly. If you plan to attend the meal, please do sign up on that list.
4. Bro Jim and Sis Jane Moser would like to thank you all for the love, prayers, meals, gifts & card, visits and support shown to them during Sis Jane’s surgery and recuperation. May the Lord richly bless each of you for your deeds of kindness.
5. New Sunday School classes begin for all grades next Sunday, September 3.
6. The OneVillage informational session is scheduled for Monday, August 28 at 7pm.
7. Our first singing/snack at the fellowship center is scheduled for Saturday, September 2 at 7pm.
8. Our first weekly coffee hour at the Fellowship Center will be Wednesday morning at 9am. This will occur weekly going forward.
9. These and other church fellowship opportunities are on the online church calendar which you can subscribe to through the link below.
10. A group has been piloting a communication tool to enable those desiring fellowship to initiate and respond to open invites, enabling us to get together more easily. You may have gotten an email this week about ‘Slack’, which is the online platform you can join if you wish to be part of this.
- If you would like more information, you can go to the church website under 'Fellowship' to learn how to join as well as for guidelines for using the platform. Note one thing we would encourage is that when you put out invitations, it would be good to invite the number of people as opposed to inviting ‘couples’ only.
- If you have any questions or feedback, please reach out to Sis Joanna Gottier or Sis Emily Bahler.
