April 30th
Greetings! The following are the Announcements for Sunday April 30, 2023
1. Our first Adult Friend discussion class was well attended with very healthy engagement and discussion. We plan to do this monthly going forward. The next one will be on Sunday, May 21, again at 10:15 am.
2. The trustees would like to thank everyone who helped in the all-church clean-up yesterday.
3. Thank you to the single group for hosting the Village Café.
4. We will have a short member meeting after church services on this coming Wednesday evening, May 3.
5. Volunteers are needed to help with outdoor landscaping at the Fellowship Center on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Please contact Bro Tom Bahler if you are able to help.
6. Minister Nomination ballots are due back today. If you are submitting a paper form, you can either mail them to me or deposit them in the ballot box in the foyer. If you are submitting them electronically, you can do that using the information on the ballot. Results are expected to be shared on Sunday afternoon, June 11.
7. Sunday, May 14 is the wedding of Sis Alison Mangold and Bro Seb Wiegand. All are invited to a singing in the church assembly on Saturday, May 13, at 7:30pm.
8. Spring memorandum is rescheduled to Saturday, June 24 (moved from May 20).
9. Fellowship Center update:
· We have put tremendous energy into planning and building the facility, and want to put similar energy into effectively utilizing the facility as a church.
· We want to again express our appreciation for the work of the building committee and project managers. We are also thankful that they are willing to manage the maintenance of the facility through our next annual business meeting.
· Completion is targeted for mid-June. However, we are unsure of when Certificate of Occupancy (CO) will be issued. We are tentatively holding Sunday, June 25 for a first all-church event, recognizing this may need to be moved to a later date.
· The building committee is looking for someone who may be interested in a paid role of cleaning the facility after church events. If you have interest, please contact Bro Dave Schneider.
· Sis Josie and Bro Jake Schneider have agreed to take on the role of reservation coordinators and will be developing the reservation and usage process over the coming weeks.
· The Events sub-committee will be asked to provide guidance in the logistical setup of various types of events.
· We want to be purposeful in in establishing rhythms (weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc) that become part of the fabric of who we are as a body, how we grow together and support one another, and how we share the love of Jesus with those around us. To help with this, we are pulling together a cross-generational group of brothers and sisters to help us be intentional in how we began to use the facility. We will share more on this in the coming weeks.
· Let us be prayerful that God will be glorified as we learn to use the facility well to further his work and glorify his name.
